Cheryl Ann Threlkeld in memory of Harriet Core Allen

Harriet was born in 1911 in Ohio. Harriet was raised on a farm with two older sisters, Helen and Hazel, and a younger brother, Buddy. She graduated from nursing school in 1931 and became a registered nurse. She was a surgical nurse, and loved her profession. She took great pride in being a nurse and was very dedicated. She died in 2001 at the age of 97.

This scholarship was established by her daughter, Cheryl Ann Threlkeld, in her memory. Cheryl fondly remembers how much her Mother loved being a nurse and has said that she is an example of what a nurse should be. In that regard, this scholarship supports those pursuing the same degree.
