The purpose of this Dr. Arshad Abid Abbasi Heart to Heart Hospice Foundation Nursing Scholarship Endowment is to honor the life of Dr. Arshad Abid Abbasi,
Born in Hyderabad, Sindh, Pakistan to the illustrious political Abbasi Family where servitude and compassion became ingrained in him from childhood. He graduated from Liaquat University of Medical Health Sciences, Jamshoro Sindh, Pakistan and then went on to complete his Internal Medicine Residency at the Brooklyn Hospital, NY, and his Fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Michigan State University where he went on to serve as Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine. Following an extensive career in the Greater Lansing Area, he located to East Texas where he served as Medical Director of the University of Texas Health System, East Texas, and with Heart to Heart Hospice in Tyler, Texas. He served in various capacities in different community organizations. He was a philanthropist and known for his generosity. His wisdom touched and shaped many lives. He was a devoted husband, a dedicated father, a brother, a friend, and a community leader. He was well known for his professionalism, humbleness, and charming nature.
