Jerry D. Bartos

Cynthia L. Sanders Bartos was born in 1929 in Bryan, TX and attended school in Bryan-College Station. She then attended Tyler High School and graduated from TJC in 1948. She went on to graduate with a BS in Education in Rehabilitation Services from Stephen F. Austin University in 1976. Cynthia was a social worker, an avid genealogist and had a life long love of literature.

This endowment was created in 2005 by Jerry Bartos to honor his beloved wife. Jerry graduated from the University of Texas – Austin and was a chemist for Texas Eastman. The scholarship is awarded to a student majoring in English.

Both Jerry and Cynthia have passed away, but their legacy remains in the students they are helping every year at TJC.
