Southside Bank in honor of Jeryl Wayne Story

Jeryl Story grew up in Texas and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, and the Stonier Graduate School of Banking. He served as an Executive Officer of Southside Bancshares, Inc. at the time of his death in 2013. He loved the outdoors and music. Both in his work and his personal life, Mr. Story held deeply thoughtful philosophical moral convictions, which were tied to his Christian faith. He was well known throughout the banking industry for his pursuit of excellence, and for more than 34 years he guided Southside bank to success.

Over the years since Mr. Story’s death, another endowed scholarship has been established to honor his legacy by an anonymous donor. Mr. Story’s love of music inspired the second scholarship, created in 2015.
